2008 Red, White and Black Ball

The 2008 Red, White and Black Ball will begin at 6:00 pm. This elegant event will include delectable food stations by Creative Catering, the Sonoita Vineyards Wine Bar, music and dancing under the stars with Allan Riding and a live and silent auction. This event is a fundraiser to meet the Freeport McMoRan Challenge Grant. Tickets are $65 per person which includes 2 glasses of wine. Tickets are available at the Center at 1250 W. Continental Road or online at www.cpacfoundation.org. Seating is limited, so be sure to get your tickets early! If you have any questions, please call Berdette at 399-1750.
Co-chairpersons are Jean Vickers and Berdette Robison. Silent auction items have been donated by Green Valley Village, M & I Bank, Safeway, Amado Territory Inn, Green Valley Pecan Store, Green Valley Jewelers, Bike & Hike, Green Valley True Valley, New West Design Interiors, Arizona Rub, Valley Players, The Retreat at Santa Rita Springs, Friends of Madera Canyon, La Posada, Camilot Flowers, Salon del Sol, Shoestring Players, Dale Strong, The Lodge at Sedona, Xanadu Ranch and McGibbon King Ranches. Tucson Guitar Society
featuring Martin Taylor
The Tucson Guitar Society is proud to present Mr. Martin Taylor on English guitar to the Green Valley community.
An award winning guitarist, he has established a unique musical career as an internationally acclaimed musician, and his inimitable style has seen him recognized as the world´s foremost exponent of solo jazz guitar playing.
Although completely self taught, he has enjoyed a remarkable musical career spanning across four decades, and during that time has invented and developed a way of playing the guitar that is admired, and often imitated, by guitarists all over the worldAs well as being a true guitar innovator, he is also a master concert performer, dazzling audiences with his solo shows, which combine virtuosity, emotion, humor, with a strong stage presence.
As well as his solo concerts and recordings, he has also collaborated with musicians from many different musical genre including, Stephane Grappelli, Chet Atkins, Bill Wyman, George Harrison, Dionne Warwick, Sacha Distel, Bryn Terfel and Jamie Cullum.
In 1999 he was made an Honorary Doctor of the University of Paisley, Scotland and in 2002, was appointed MBE "For Services To Jazz Music", in The Queen´s Birthday Honours List, which he received personally from Her Majesty The Queen at an investiture at Buckingham Palace.
